Now Playing Tracks

Day 12 of the Trisk rewind mutates into The Freakmaker!

Here’s a little secret you might not know; I love Doctor Who.  I know!  Who woulda guessed it??  So when I stumbled across a cheesy little horror flick starring Tom Baker, the Fourth Doctor?  Oh HELL YES, I had to fast track the review.

And yes, that’s Tom Baker buried in makeup in the accompanying screencap.  It was tough for him to act through all that, but he still manages it well.

Bonus points for the movie, it also had Donald Pleasance, and really silly at times makeup effects.

I mean, c’mon.  There was a guy in this that mutated into a plant man with CABBAGE HANDS.  That is either brilliant or insane.

Needless to say, this was one of the gems of Trisk’s first year.  Baker is good, as is Pleasance, and the plot is a classic of the horror genre.  I’m glad I discovered it, and hope it made a few other people find it that might otherwise have never known about The Freakmaker
